Danny Brown claims Die Antwoord’s Ninja sexually assaulted him
TW: sexual assault
The rapper spoke about the alleged assault in a recent appearance on the podcast 2 Bears, 1 Cave.
In the interview with comedian Tom Segura, Danny Brown claimed that Ninja, one half of South African duo Die Antwoord, had sexually assaulted him at an afterparty following one of Brown’s shows in Paris. Brown alleged that Ninja had sat on his lap and tried to kiss him at a nightclub. “It freaked me out,” Brown said. “I was a single experimenting man at the time,” he added, “but he was too aggressive.”
Brown went on to suggest that Ninja – real name Watkin Tudor Jones – had also proposed a threesome with Yolandi Visser, the other half of Die Antwoord. “I was scared,” he said. “Fuck them though! I could have cancelled ’cause MeToo, I was sexually assaulted by Ninja. I stand by that, he know I ain’t lying.”
In addition, Brown claimed that when he refused to give Ninja his hotel address the South African rapper had said, “Don’t worry, I’ll find you.” Ninja has yet to respond to the allegations. The full interview can be watched here.
This isn’t the first time Ninja has had sexual assault allegations levelled at him. Australian musician Zheani and singer Dionna Dal Monte have both previously accused the Die Antwoord rapper of sexual assault. The duo have also previously come under fire for allegations of homophobic abuse after a video clip surfaced of them yelling homophobic slurs at Andy Butler, from Hercules & Love Affair.
Die Antwoord were recently visited by social welfare following child abuse allegations from the pair’s adopted son Gabriel ‘Tokkie’ du Preez.
