Nick Cave and Warren Ellis announce documentary release date
This Much I Know to Be True is set to hit cinemas on 11 May.
Directed by Andrew Dominik, the film focuses on Nick Cave and Warren Ellis’ creative relationship. Shot in London and Brighton, it documents the pair working together on the Bad Seeds album Ghosteen as well as their surprise collaborative release, Carnage.
This Much I Know to Be True is billed as a companion feature to Dominik’s 2016 work One More Time With Feeling, which captured the making of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ album Skeleton Tree following the death of Cave’s son Arthur aged 15.
In the upcoming cinema release, Dominik documents the first performances of Ghosteen and Carnage in spring 2021 ahead of the pair’s UK tour. The film also features an appearance from former Crack Magazine cover star Marianne Faithfull, who released the album She Walks in Beauty with Ellis last year. Head to the online store to get your copy of the Marianne Faithfull cover.
This Much I Know to Be True is out on 11 May. The film will be screened in cinemas globally, with tickets for the release event scheduled to go on sale on 23 March.
