Pioneer DJ announces new-look controller DDJ-FLX6
Pioneer DJ has announced a new controller – the DDJ-FLX6. The new unit is designed to control both rekordbox dj and Serato, and as well as adopting a more stripped back grey and black style, it introduces a new Merge FX function, a single knob that can control up to four FX simultaneously. These FX can be determined by the user in a new Merge FX menu.
A new jog cutter feature lets you create realistic scratch-style effects, which uses scratch patterns to mimic crossfader cuts, so you can focus on the jog wheel alone. Speaking of jogs, they’re full size, with the on-screen jog on the 2000s rather than the coloured screen of the 3000 and some other Pioneer DJ controllers.
There’s six assignable FX across two FX channels, eight performance pads per deck with Hot Cue, Pad FX and more, dedicated filter per channel, and a mic input. The outputs are taken care of via RCA outs and while there’s a booth output too, they’re both unbalanced.
There’s no input so you can’t use the FLX6 as a mixer or input device. It costs £539 and is available now – watch the video below for more.
