RVNG Intl shares video for Pauline Anna Strom’s 'Equatorial Sunrise': Watch
Ahead of the posthumous release of Pauline Anna Strom’s album ‘Angel Tears in Sunlight’, RVNG Intl has shared a video for ‘Equatorial Sunrise’.
‘Angel Tears In Sunlight’, the blind Bay Area composer and synth pioneer’s first album in 30 years, was announced in October, two months before the sad news of her passing was shared in December. The album will be released on 19th February.
The mesmerising video for ‘Equatorial Sunrise’ begins and ends with an audio clip of Strom describing her hopes for the track’s visuals, shared with RVNG’s Matt Werth over voicemail. Check it out below.
Strom was born in 1946 in Louisiana, and began her electronic musical journey in the early 1970s, capturing her otherworldly synth experiments using a Tascam four-track recorder. After retreating from music following seven releases between 1982 and 1988, Storm captured renewed interest in 2017 thanks to a RVNG Intl. anthology of her work, ‘Trans-Millenia Music’.
A portion of the proceeds from ‘Angel Tears in Sunlight will go to the nonprofit International Iguana Foundation, in honour of Strom’s two beloved pet Cyclura Iguanas, Little Soulstice and Miss Huff.
