The final line-up for Llais 2022 has been released
Cate Le Bon, House Gospel Choir, and more all join the Cardiff festival.
Llais has finalised its lineup for its 2022 edition, which will take over the Wales Millennium Centre from 26-30 October.
Alongside a lineup featuring the likes of Black Midi, Pussy Riot, Abdullah Ibrahim and more – Llais have announced a special performance celebrating John Cale‘s 80th birthday, as he performs alongside House Gospel Choir, Cate Le Bon, James Dean Bradfield, Sifonia Cymru and Gruff Rhys. Mercury Prize nominee Gwenno also joins the line-up.
The Glanfa stage will treat the public to free performances across three days, with Friday focusing on some some of Wales’ most talented Black artists, including Afro Cluster and the Dabs Calypso trio, while Saturday features PRITT And Nia Wyn. Sunday’s Recordiau Noddfa takeover will feature Melin Melyn and 3 Hwr Doeth.
Cardiff’s music scene will be celebrated through the City of Sound exhibition – taking a look into the archive and providing creative experience. Kara Jackson, former American National Youth Poet is also set to perform.
The festival will kick off with the Welsh Music Prize, featuring live performances from Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, Dead Method, Adwaith, and many more.
