Fort X Festival Debuts at Slovenia’s Historic Mokrice Castle

A new boutique electronic music festival will make its debut this September as Fort X transforms Slovenia’s medieval Mokrice Castle into a day festival for underground house and techno. Taking place on 5th September 2026, the inaugural edition brings together a stellar lineup of international talent, including Âme DJ, Maceo Plex, Jimi Jules, Dixon, Butch, and Nic Fanciulli, all set against the backdrop of a medieval fortress just outside Ljubljana.

Rather than relying on traditional festival infrastructure, the organizers have designed Fort X to integrate seamlessly with the existing architecture and landscape of the 15th-century Mokrice Castle. Stages are strategically placed throughout hidden courtyards, woodland paths, and historic stone walls. The production will feature bespoke lighting and projection mapping, designed to evolve the atmosphere as the sun sets, eventually transitioning into sunrise sessions that carry the energy through to Sunday morning.

The inaugural lineup highlights a sophisticated blend of cultured house and techno artists from across Europe. Alongside the headliners, the event will feature performances from Fiona Kraft, Mimi x Fy, and a selection of regional talent including Aney F, Elena Mikac, Joe Quinn, and Pablo Panda. With a focus on creating an intimate experience, capacity has been strictly limited to ensure that the programming—which emphasizes longer, more immersive sets—can be fully appreciated by the audience.

Fort X is the result of a collaboration between BSH Events, a leading European promoter known for site-specific landmark events, and Main Stage Travel, the creative team behind renowned destination festivals such as Kala and Snowboxx. Given the limited capacity and the unique nature of the venue, organizers anticipate that tickets for this inaugural edition will sell out well in advance of the September date.
