Glastonbury’s Block9 announces Notting Hill Carnival collaboration, LSDXOXO and Overmono for 2022

The London-based creative organisation – led by Gideon Berger and Stephen Gallagher – has revealed its programme for 2022.

This year marks Block9’s fifteenth outing at Glastonbury festival. Having expanded in 2019 to encompass two adjacent fields named Block9 East and Block9 West, today the team has announced the line-up for their return to the festival. Artists confirmed include LSDXOXO, Shygirl, Overmono and Sherelle. Block9 will also welcome the likes of Floorplan, OK Williams and Hercules & Love Affair across the five-day event.

Block9 has also shared news of their partnership with Notting Hill Carnival. The new collaboration will see the historic west London event at Glastonbury for the first time. As part of this, they’ll have the world’s first one hundred percent green electric carnival float with a sound system and sets from Notting Hill selectors. There will also be carnival processions across the festival site and The Mangrove Steelband are set to perform in Block9 East.

Elsewhere, NYC Downlow makes a return. The multi-room queer club space has been a staple of the festival since 2007. This year it will be held in Block9 West and is set to host the likes of Todd Edwards, Honey Dijon, Justin Strauss and DJ Paulette. Other highlights include performances from east London troupe Maude Adams and All Those Children and The Love Ball on Friday night, which is inspired by New York’s Ballroom scene and Suzanne Bartsch’s iconic events.

Alongside the music, Block9 brings multi-disciplinary artworks and installations to the festival. Block9’s immersive audio-visual installation and stage IICON will also feature again, which is where the likes of Sherelle, Shygirl and LSDXOXO will perform.

Glastonbury comes to Worthy Farm in Somerset from 22 June to 26 July this summer. Kendrick Lamar is set to make his debut at the festival, with a headline performance. Other acts confirmed include Billie Eilish, Turnstile, Yves Tumor and Charli XCX.
