The Avalanches announce virtual live show to celebrate new album release
The Avalanches have announced a virtual live show to celebrate their forthcoming album.
Australian electronic group The Avalanches, who recently shared the tracklist and details for their third album, ‘We Will Always Love You’, have announced a livestream performance to celebrate the LP’s release.
On Saturday 19th December, The Avalanches will be playing tracks from the rooftop of Melbourne institution Curtin House across three time zones. The live performance will be accompanied by a screening of Jonathan Zawada’s short film Carrier Waves, which the Avalanches say “explores the transcendant nature of music itself”.
MGMT, Johnny Marr, Neneh Cherry, Karen O, Tricky and Blood Orange are among the artists that feature on the Australian group’s new record, which is released on December 11th. Rivers Cuomo, Denzel Curry, Perry Farrell, Leon Bridges, Mick Jones, Sampa the Great, Kurt Vile also appear across its 25 tracks.
Tickets for the event cost £9, and are available to purchase here.
After revealing that their third studio album had been completed, The Avalanches shared ‘Reflecting Light’, alongside ‘Wherever You Go’, featuring Jamie XX and Neneh Cherry, as well as Sananda Maitreya and Vashti Bunyan. The two singles follow a release alongside Blood Orange, and ‘Running Red Lights’, featuring Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo.
In September, The Avalanches teamed up with Tony Hawk to release a rare X-ray vinyl.
